Idea Consulting Inc Announces First Summit Dedicated To Eurasian Social Media And Application Markets

(PRWEB) November 08, 2011

Idea Consulting Inc felt that it was time to host such an event in the US, as Russia, in particular, although still only boasting roughly 45 percent Internet penetration, has taken to social media like no other nation, with users spending on average 100 percent more time on the Internet than any other population, according to a recent ComScore report. Since Russifying, in 2010, Facebook saw its Russian community grow by over 430 percent after it completed localization translation, and Twitter accumulated nearly 2 million users within a month after its local introduction that same year. Homegrown brands, many financed significantly by traditional media outlets, are expanding rapidly and becoming avid customers of Western media products while locally developed technologies are increasing in attractiveness to Western companies looking constantly for new and cutting edge products to provide for their customers.

Finally, and perhaps most significantly, the region is only on the verge of experiencing the birth of Smartphone applications. In countries with 80 percent plus Smartphone penetration, however, and consumers with an inherent proclivity towards technology and social media, goods and services industries are likely to be revolutionized. As such, day one of the event, entitled Apps Without Borders, will be dedicated to the local iPhone and Android application markets, including seminars from industry leaders on GPS/GIS technology capability and location-based marketing, on-line payment systems, taxes and legalities, cellular technology development, creation of localized, dynamic editorial, cross-platform PR and marketing, and development of on-the-ground partner networks. IDEA expects the main beneficiaries of this lecture series to be emerging, branding on-line retail discounted outlets with media and application components seeking to become internationally recognized brands.

The two-day event is to take place May 18-19 at the Liberty Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts.

The evening of day one will feature an awards dinner honoring leaders and luminaries in the Eurasian social media and technology sectors, as well as local politicians and investors who have worked to modernize regional economies through innovation in technology.

Day 2 of the event will be split in two, with the majority of the day dedicated to Social Media, an industry which has become attractive enough so as Viacom decided to co-chair, with Price Waterhouse, and Russias Channel One, a sub-conference at this years MIPCOM conference, dedicated to the industry, which is both producing innovative and strongly branded platforms and producing an entirely new group of companies seeking to purchase innovative and cutting edge Western content for local, cross-platform, digital distribution.

Day two will conclude with a two hour showcase of the brightest and best IDEA hand-picked media-oriented technologies and social media operations seeking investment and expansion into the West.

The summit will conclude with an open reception, where IDEA hopes that deals will be initiated, gain momentum, or even be concluded, with the help of intermediary experts if needed, thus helping to grow the tech sector in the Eurasian markets in a more effortless and efficient manner, helping media and technology creators and innovators to keep up with the pace of tech development and allow for a more rapid modernization of the Eurasian tech markets that is at once beneficial to Western counterparts.

Matthew Goldstein, President of Idea Consulting Inc, who has overseen the entry and development of a significant portion of the Wests largest media conglomerates and tech operations, including Bloomberg, NAVTEQ, FOX, and Viacom into the region, said, We are really trying to fold into this event all that makes the Eurasian, and especially Russian technology markets exciting and attractive. We want to see newer, smaller, but strongly branded Western on-line goods and service providers which have been successful in making use of both applications be able to seamlessly expand into what will be their most successful markets, before they are too late to market. We want to see wheeling and dealing between cutting edge content providers seeking to access unsaturated and solvent markets. And, we want to give Western companies the chance to learn about and hopefully incorporate and invest in the hottest regional technologies and innovative social media platforms. For this reason, we are making sure that all relevant industry leaders, with decision making powers, are on location. This summit is meant to be both a learning experience and a trade fair. In short, we think its in everyones interest to knock down barriers of entry and see deals get done faster and more efficiently.

Although EuraMedia will be largely an invitation-based event, 200 tickets will be made available to the public, which will go on sale in January, 2012

Idea Consulting Inc will be releasing a list of speakers for the EURAMEDIA summit, as well as announcing surrounding events, and specific lectures, on its site http://www.Ideaconsultinginc.com/Euramedia throughout the next few months.

First Choice Emergency Room Announces 24 Hour Service at Its Location in The Woodlands

The Woodlands, TX (PRWEB) November 01, 2011

First Choice Emergency Room, Texas' largest network of freestanding, no-wait emergency rooms, has announced that its location in The Woodlands will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The new hours take effect on Friday, November 11, 2011.

This is the third First Choice ER location to move to 24 hour service, and the second facility in the Houston area to do so.

"We're excited to extend our hours," says Jason Worley, COO for First Choice Emergency Room. "The Woodlands has been a great location for us."

First Choice ER operates twelve free-standing emergency rooms in cities across Texas. While First Choice ER opened its first location over eight years ago, free-standing emergency rooms are still a relatively new concept in medical care.

These facilities can provide an equivalent level of care to that seen in most hospital emergency rooms, but without the overcrowding and long wait times. At the same time, they offer a higher level of care than neighborhood urgent care centers.

All First Choice Emergency Rooms feature advanced diagnostic equipment such as CT scanners and digital X-rays. All of First Choice Emergency Room's physicians are board certified in emergency medicine, and all of the company's nurses are trained in emergency care.

"Each of our locations also performs on-site laboratory tests," says Worley, "Which means we can do blood work and other lab tests right away."

With its new extended hours, residents of The Woodlands can get this care anytime, day or night.

The Woodlands emergency room is located at 10333 Kuykendahl, Suite B, The Woodlands, TX 77382. Contact the facility at (832) 381-1999 or view a YouTube facility tour.

Math Goes Green: Custom Software by Nagarro Runs First Paperless Moodys Mega Math Challenge

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) June 2, 2010

News Facts:

SIAM has successfully implemented a custom software product designed by Nagarro to automate the judging process of the 2010 Moodys Mega Math Challenge. This year, more than 500 teams of high school math students are competing for scholarships totaling $ 100,000, with a grand prize of a $ 20,000 scholarship to be shared among members of the winning team.
The submissions which contain up to 20 pages of text, charts, graphs, tables and equations were judged among seven teams of PhD-level professional applied mathematicians. Over a period of 20 days, each submission was evaluated by multiple judges who were able to view submissions online and remotely at their own convenience, thus eliminating printing, mailing and redistribution of printed hard copies.
In order to deal with the increasing number of submissions and judges spanning a greater geographic area, SIAM enlisted Nagarro to design, build and implement custom software to manage the first round of the judging process for the contest. The new system created by Nagarro logs, tracks, calibrates and calculates the scoring of each submission online; provides judging instructions and relevant background for each judge; ensures complete password-protected confidentiality of all entries; captures judges comments clearly and legibly; and enables judges to participate remotely and forward submissions to other judges electronically in order to meet critical deadlines.
Prior to implementing the custom software developed by Nagarro, the judging process for the contest was primarily manual and paper-based. Though the previous system was effective, it had become increasingly time-consuming to administer within the proscribed timeframe as the Moodys Mega Math Challenge grew each year. In addition to making the process more scalable, SIAM also wanted to dramatically reduce the environmental impact of paper and shipping related to the submission and judging processes.

Students Launch Canada’s First ‘Textbook Exchange Through Social Networking’ Web Site

Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) August 22, 2005

A group of enterprising university students has launched ‘BooksForSchool.ca’: Canada’s first free textbook exchange web site, based on a social networking concept, which links students within similar schools and courses. BooksForSchool.ca helps reduce the costs of post-secondary textbooks by creating an online community of buyers and sellers.

Motivated by concern over the high cost of education, rising tuitions, living expenses and onerous textbook fees, student developers were anxious to find creative ways to manage the accumulating student debt load. As a result of the hard work put into the development of BooksForSchool.ca, students now have a convenient system to save money and time with the free online textbook exchange service.

An online textbook exchange service is a web site that facilities the direct exchange of post-secondary textbooks between students. Members may buy, sell or exchange their new and used textbooks without surcharges.

"Textbook fees continue to rise and schools continue to devalue buyback offers on used textbooks," said Lawson Hennick, press coordinator of the BooksForSchool.ca web site. "BooksForSchool.ca allows students to determine the price of textbooks without the added expense of the middleman."

BooksForSchool.ca matches students with others across Canada who have the textbooks they need. Web site tools automatically inform students by email when a required textbook becomes available. BooksForSchool.ca is completely free to buy, sell or trade textbooks so students can retain much more of their initial investment when selling their textbooks online.

"Since BooksForSchool.ca is a national initiative, books which may be outdated in one province may retain full value in another province," explains student web developer Paul Levine. "We are very excited to share this cost saving opportunity to students across the country.”

Founded in 2003, BooksForSchool.ca pioneered the country wide online textbook exchange service in Canada. In 2005, BooksForSchool.ca combined textbook swapping with social networking, enabling students to decrease their expenses and make it easier to buy and sell new and used textbooks.

BooksForSchool.ca is a completely free service for university and college students. The BooksForSchool.ca web site can be accessed by visiting: http://www.booksforschool.ca.

The Tax Lady Roni Deutch Provides Last Minute Tips For Using The First Time Homebuyer Credit

North Highlands, CA (PRWEB) October 29, 2009

Tax attorney Roni Deutch recently published an article on her blog providing last minute tips to utilizing the first time homebuyer credit.

"Early in the year, Congress enacted an $ 8,000 tax credit for first time homebuyers purchasing a house between January 1st and November 30th of this year," asserted Deutch on her blog. "As you can tell, that November deadline is just around the corner. In order to qualify, your house must close escrow on or before that date. The IRS even states that you may not claim the credit in anticipation of a purchase that has yet to happen."

Below are a handful of the tips Deutch published to her blog explaining how to take advantage of the first-time homebuyers credit. To read the full article, you can check out Roni Deutch: The Tax Lady Blog.

Beating the Deadline

If you plan to take advantage of the credit but have not already begun the process of buying a home, you are probably too late. Even after you have an accepted offer, and received approval on a loan, it can take 30 to 60 days to close escrow. Additionally, title and escrow companies are being swamped with purchases that need to be completed before December 1st, which will likely cause delays if you are trying to close escrow at the last minute.

On the other hand, if you have already begun the process [What process are you talking about?][How does this sentence conform to the second sentence in the paragraph above?], then there are a few things you can do to make sure you beat the deadline. Depending on what stage in the game you are at, you want to make sure that you have all of your ducks in a row. Tell your real estate agent, loan officer, and title company that you are in a hurry and push for as short of a close of escrow as possible.

Qualifying as a "First-Time" Homebuyer

There has been a lot of confusion over the phrase "first-time" homebuyer, as you can actually qualify for the credit if you have bought a home in the past. As long as you have not owned your principal residence within the last three years, then you qualify for the credit. This means, that if you owned rental property and have rented it out for the past three years while residing elsewhere (in property you do not own), you qualify for the credit. So, if you purchased any property this year, then I would highly recommend speaking with a tax professional to find out if you qualify or not. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Non-Houses Qualify Too

As I mentioned before, if you purchased any property in the past year you may qualify for the credit. It actually applies to multiple different types of property including condos, townhouses, motor homes, and even houseboats. As long as the property is your principal place of residence, you can qualify for the credit. Therefore, a summer or vacation home would not qualify.
